Nassau Community College Wrestling Wins 2024 District Championship

Sanborn, New York - The Nassau Community College Wrestling won the 2024 District Title on Saturday afternoon. The Lions placed first out of the four teams that competed on the day.

The Lions were the top finisher overall with 116.5 team points, 74.5 more points than second-place Niagra County Community College.

Nassau Community College's wrestlers placed first in nine of 10 weight classes competing, with individual titles being won by Joseph Petrone (125 Ibs.), Caleb Peralta Munoz (133 lbs.), Ryan Paladino (141 lbs.), Ibrahim Khan (149 lbs), Kristopher Ketchum (157 lbs.), Joseph Mattei (165 lbs.), Gabe Thomasson (184 lbs.), Cole O'Brien (197 lbs.), and Jacob Maiorano (285 lbs.).

Stephen Dickerson finished second in the 174 Ib division. 

All 10 Nassau competitors qualified for NJCAA nationals, and the Lions will look to repeat at nationals after securing regional and district titles in 2024 for an 11th NJCAA national championship.

The Lions will head to Council Bluffs, Iowa, for the NJCAA 2024 National Championship.
