Fashion Institute of Technology Women's Cross Country Team Captures Second Consecutive Region 15 Title

KINGS PARK, N.Y. – The Fashion Institute of Technology Tigers Women's Cross Country team claimed the 2025 NJCAA Region 15 Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning at Sunken Meadow State Park, securing the program's second consecutive regional title.

The Tigers delivered a strong collective effort, placing all five scoring runners among the top 35 finishers to clinch the championship.

Leading the way for FIT was Mikayla Numkena, who finished third overall in the 5k race with a time of 21:22, followed by Olivia Corabi in ninth place (21:46). Also contributing key points for the Tigers were Elsa Marigliano in 15th (22:01), Anika Selover in 18th (22:15), and Sofia Zampella in 35th (24:34).

In recognition of the team's back-to-back championship performance, Tigers Head Coach Howard Lindsay was named the Region 15 Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the second straight season.

In terms of the region, Brooke Keital of Suffolk County Community College finished first out of all the Region 15 runners (and second overall) with a time of 21:09.
