Nassau, Borough of Manhattan, and Monroe - Bronx Earn Spots in Inaugural NJCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament
CHARLOTTE – Three Region 15 men's volleyball teams have earned bids into the inaugural NJCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament: Nassau Community College, Borough of Manhattan Community College, and Monroe University – Bronx. It was announced during the selection show on the NJCAA Network. The on-demand broadcast can be seen here. The entire postseason will take place at College of DuPage, in Glen Ellyn, Ill, on April 23-25.
The Lions (20-5) earned their spot in the national postseason by capturing its second consecutive Region 15 championship. They enter the tournament as the #2-seed and take on #7-seed Atlantic Cape Community College in the NJCAA Quarterfinal on Thursday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m. EDT/5:30 p.m. CDT.
The Panthers (13-5) made it all the way to the Region 15 Final which helped earn the Panthers an at-large bid as the #6-seed. They will battle #3-seed Ocean County Community College earlier in the day at 4 p.m. EDT/3 p.m. CDT for the right to go to the semifinal round.
The Express (17-13) will enter the national tournament as the #8-seed and will battle top-ranked College of DuPage in the quarterfinal round to kick off the national championship tournament at 11 a.m. EDT/10 a.m. CDT. Monroe - Bronx had a strong season and earned a berth in the Region 15 Semifinals, which catapulted them to a selection for an at-large bid.
