Former Nassau C.C. Lacrosse All-American Andrew Tittmann Collects SUNY Scholar-Athlete Of The Year Prize

Garden City, New York - Former Nassau Community College men's lacrosse player and NJCAA Division I All-America First Team selection Andrew Tittmann recently collected an award recognizing him as one of SUNY's six 2022-23 Scholar-Athletes of the Year as a member of the SUNY Oswego men's lacrosse team.

The award is given annually to two student-athletes from each division – NCAA Divisions I and III and the NJCAA – who were previously "recognized as SUNY Scholar Athletes in 29 different sports from the fall, winter, and spring athletic seasons." The accolades celebrate student-athlete success in the classroom and on the field.

Tittmann, a goalkeeper, made 12 appearances for NCC during the 2023 season and boasted a .654 save percentage. He was named an NJCAA First-Team All-American for the second consecutive season and landed on the NJCAA Championship All-Tournament Team. NCC was the national runner-up one year after winning the national title in 2022.

In the classroom, Tittmann posted a 3.75 cumulative GPA and completed an A.A. in Liberal Arts. He transferred to SUNY Oswego in the summer, where he is a men's lacrosse team member and studies elementary education.

Tittmann said his time at NCC was the "best experience of my life and shaped me as a person. I recommend anyone to go to Nassau – it can be the biggest difference maker in your life.

"Coming from a perennial powerhouse gave me new opportunities I wouldn't have out of high school," he added. "A staff with connections and know-how helped open me to new opportunities outside of Nassau."
