Tinashe Bure Earns NJCAA Division I Runner Of The Week

Charlotte, North Carolina - After helping the Mustangs qualify for the 2024 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships and a first place finish this past Sunday at the Queensborough Invitational Monroe University cross country freshman runner Tinashe Bure was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Men's Runner of the Week, as announced by the NJCAA on Wednesday. 

Bure crossed the tape in first over the weekend at the Queensborough Invitational with a time of 27:12.00 and was one of four Mustang runners to place in the top-four at the event, which also helped the program capture the Region 15 Division I Championship in 8k.
