Region 15 Softball Postseason Begins on Saturday

The Region 15 Softball Postseason will begin on Saturday at the Suffolk County Community College Brentwood Campus. The Suffolk County Sharks (10-16, 6-2 Region 15) enter the field as the No. 1 seed. The defending Region 15 Champion Monroe University - Bronx Express (8-33, 3-3 Region 15) will be the No. 2 seed. The Dutchess Community College Falcons (10-14, 2-6 Region 15) are the No. 3 seed.

It will be a double-elimination tournament.

The Express will battle the Falcons in the opening game on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. The winner of that game will take on the top-seeded Sharks at 1:30 p.m. The non-winners of the two games will play each other in an elimination contest at 4:30 p.m. 

On Sunday, the winners of the second and third games will play each other at 12:00 p.m. on the Brentwood Softball Field. If the team that already has one loss falls in the 12pm game, then the undefeated team will capture the regional championship. If the undefeated team suffers its first loss in the fourth game, then a fifth game will be needed to determine the Region 15 Champion. The potential winner-take all fifth game will take place at 2:30 p.m., right after the fourth contest.
