FIT Finishes 2nd, Suffolk Places 3rd at Nationals
Fashion Institute of Technology and Suffolk Community College both narrowly missed out on capturing a national women's tennis title this past weekend as Oxford Emory seized the crown. FIT finished the event with 28 points and Suffolk earned 24 points to fall short of the Champion's 35.5 point total. Rockland also made an appearance and scored 9 points to finish seventh out of 12 teams.
Individually, FIT did manage to secure two national titlists, as Kiana Brooks and Maia Sepulveda earned the #5 and #6 singles crowns, respectively. Brooks defeated the #1 and #2 seeds in her flight to earn her title, emerging victorious in the title match 6-2, 6-2. Sepulveda earned her Championship by winning 6-1, 6-1.
