Suffolk’s Aaliyah Shorter Receives USTFCCCA Northeast Region Field Athlete Of Year Accolades, Finishes As National Runner-Up In Women’s Triple Jump

Utica, New York - Suffolk Community College sophomore Aaliyah Shorter put on a show at the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships headlined by a National runner-up in the Women's Triple Jump en route to 2024 USTFCCCA Northeast Region Field Athlete Of Year honors.

Shorter posted four top-five finishes and grabbed NJCAA Division III All-American Second Team and Honorable Mention honors in the women's triple jump and 4x100 meters at Nationals. Shorter finished in second place in the Triple Jump on Thursday with a mark of 10.22 meters, earning her National runner-up, and had a third-place finish in the women's 4 x 100 meters with a time of 51.35.

She also finished fourth and fifth in the Long Jump and Shot Put with marks of 5.09 meters and 9.58 meters.
