Queensborough's Sharma Wins 2022 CUNYAC Women's Cross Country Individual Title

Bronx, New York (Oct. 30, 2022) - Queensborough freshman runner Shivangi Sharma won the 2022 CUNYAC Women's Community College Cross Country Individual Championship on Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park at the 2022 CUNYAC Cross Country Championships.

Sharma finished the 6K event in 27th place overall and first among community college participants in a final time of 35:34.9. She was one of five Tigers to compete in the event. Though Queensborough had the required five runners start and finish the race to qualify for a team score, they were not eligible to win a team championship due to a lack of a team-scoring opponent.

The women's cross country team will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 5, when they will take part in the 2022 NJCAA National Championships in Westfield, Massachusetts.
