Westchester C.C. and Queensborough C.C. Finish 9th and 11th At The 2022 NJCAA Division III Cross Country Championships

Westfield, Mass. (Nov. 5, 2022) - Westchester C.C. and Queensborough C.C. laced it up in the 2022 NJCAA Division III National Championship with a competitive field of 93 runners. The Vikings clocked in with a ninth-place finish with 237 points, and the Tigers posted an 11th-place finish with 305 points.

2022 Region XV Champion Westchester Community College had five runners suit up at Nationals, with Mylene Smith, the 2022 Region XV Champion leading the way amongst all Region 15 competitors clocking in with a time of 21:23.43 from Region 15 Coach of the Year Karim McFarlane's squad. Vania Dias Santos and Paula Camila Bermeo came across the tape with times of 24:08.31 and 26:51.20, while Irene Maris and Gianna Marziliano posted times of 28:53.44 and 30:31.40.

The 2022 CUNYAC Champion Queensborough Tigers also had five runners compete, led by Conference Individual champion Shivangi Sharma, who finished 78th overall in a time of 27:42.57 in the 5k event.
Andrea Rivera finished right behind at 85th overall in a time of 29:28.67, while Ange Compere and Arielle Allert posted times of 37:15.98 and 41:10.15.
